Vala's First At Home Bath

First of, I'd like to acknowledge my wonderful mother who volunteered to stay with us for two weeks to help with Valeska and Maksim. She has been a tremendous part of raising our children and since she is a registered nurse, she knows what she's doing. I can not thank her enough for everything she continues to do for us including cooking, cleaning, and the laundry. We're so blessed.

Below are pictures of Valeska's first at home bath four days ago inside her room. Thanks to our friends, The Thompson's, for giving Valeska her bath tub.

The nurses at the hospital advised against submersion baths so not to wet her umbilical cord since it needs to remain clean and dry. My mom automatically knew how to bathe her. We filled a pail full of warm water and used it to first wash her hair. We used a plastic cup to pour water slowly on her head. Then she got soaped up and rinsed off - no submersion underwater whatsoever - not to mention that gallons of water wasn't wasted.

Of course she cried as expected.
