Springfield, IL - 5 Year Anniversary ✓

Here are some pictures from our 5 Year Anniversary. We took over 500 pictures, so you can see how difficult it was for me to post just a few pictures.

We traveled to Springfield, Illinois for our 5th year anniversary for the long weekend of  June 22, 2013. We toured the city and had a fantastic time. I am so blessed to have shared this experience with my husband.

I took this picture at the most popular spot to take photos
of Abraham Lincoln's house. It is a beautiful neighborhood.

When we went to Springfield, IL - civil war reenactments took place.
Outside the old capitol building were these Confederate Soldier at camp.

Here's our tour guide, a confederate soldier. His knowledge of the
Civil War era is incredible.

Bread the soldiers ate during that time.
These were as hard as a rock.

It is HUGE!

We had a chance to go inside Lincoln's Tomb.

Lincoln’s remains rest in a concrete vault ten feet below
the marble floor of the burial chamber.

We had the pleasure to dine at Incredibly Delicious restaurant/bakery.
It is a quaint little delightful restaurant for a light bite to eat.
I wish we could take this place and move it to our area.
We absolutely love this place.

At the restaurant, we tasted macarons for the first time.
Loved these. They were delicious.
I will learn to make these someday.

where a guy asked him to sign a petition to raise minimum wage to $15.00.
An argument ensued. It was quite entertaining.
If you all know my husband, he's quite intelligent and he will stand his ground.
In such the case, we do not believe minimum wage should be raised to $15.00.
