Field Trip to theAmerican Indian Museum & The Bird Sanctuary

Maksim and I went to his school field trip to the American Indian Museum and Bird Sanctuary. It was ridiculously cold, but a lot of fun. What a perk that parents were allowed to attend. I wish I had my DSLR, the pictures could have been over 10 times better.

Here we learned of all the animals in the Midwest forest. One interesting fact, the red fox can not climb trees while the grey fox can. Red fox have similar paws to dogs, while the grey fox have similar paws and claws like cats.

Look at his face as this lady explained how owls vomit (pellets) and you can find all sorts of interesting things in their vomit, like bones among other things. Maksim was disgusted while other kids had no problem digging through it. lol. He makes me laugh.

Roasting marshmallows by the hearth towards the end of the field trip. Since we're kosher, we didn't put marshmallows in our smores. But after the field trip, we went to the health food market to buy vegetarian marshmallows, dark chocolate, and graham crackers. We roasted veggie marshmallows and made smores at home. He was ecstatic.
