Sesame Street Live

Thursday, November 28, 2013

Yesterday we went to Dubuque, Iowa to watch Sesame Street Live. It was a fantastic experience to be surrounded with so much joy. Children don't care what others think of them, they simply live a life full of abundant hope and happiness. An important lesson I need to practice in my life.

Nonetheless, Maksim had a lot of fun.

Here's the stage for the show. We got seats in the second row.
See Andrey and Maksim in the shot? The usher actually sat us
in the wrong seats. We sat in the second row, but to the left side
of where we sat in the picture, which ended up to be better seats
because a lot of the cast visited our area.

Telly Monster, Abby, Earnie, Cookie Monster, Baby Bear, The Count,
Grover, Elmo, and Bert sang an ABC song. The title of the show was,
Making Friends. Grover has a friend from India visit and he finds it
difficult to spend time with her because all the other characters want to
spend time with her too. They end up doing an Indian song and dance
with a big giant elephant towards the end as a surprise to Grover.
It was truly spectacular.

Maksim mesmerized while watching the play.

The gang. The Big Bird costume impressed me the most.
The Sesame Street gang sang parody songs of Adam Levine & Katy Perry.
They also sang some iconic songs from the show, like the Elmo Slide.

Maksim got to eat popcorn too.
He sat on Papa's lap throughout the whole show.
He danced and bopped his head to the beat of the songs.

I couldn't get a good shot of Maksim shaking hands and hugging the
Sesame Street characters. Everything went by way too fast. But he did
shake the hand of this character above, one of the honkers, Zoe, and
some others I don't remember. I wish I took more pictures.

Here are the kids going towards the stage to greet some of the characters.
It was so much fun. Andrey held back Maksim a bit since it was getting too
crowded and the characters were dancing. Didn't want him trampled on.

Papa got Maksim an Elmo wand that twinkles with many different colors.
Funny, on the way home, he played with that wand and cars in front of us
were pulling to the curb since they thought we were the police flashing lights.

Maksim playing with a boy and other kids during the show.
Kids make friends so easily. It's wonderful.

At the concession stand at the end of the show.
