Apartment Life

Last Sunday (3/19) we moved to our townhouse apartment without hiring movers. Huge mistake. It was intense for everyone involved, especially Andrey whose back was burning towards the end of the day. A great deal of things still need to be packed at the house, but the basic necessities are already in the apartment. Most of our belongings are in storage facilities - we can only fit so much in the 950 sq ft shared space. Grateful for my family who moved everything because I was, and am still, ridiculously sick.

Apartment life has been interesting. I adapted immediately, which was unforeseen, possibly prematurely predicted. Andrey, however, surprised me as my expectations of him were off. He is usually a simple man, but he couldn't handle the smaller space with his 6'7 frame. Maksim has been staying at my parent's house for the time being and my father-in-law is still living at the house packing the rest of the stuff. The pets were stressed to begin with, puking everywhere, but they've managed to entertain themselves by looking out the window, barking at passerbys. Perhaps when everyone moves in the apartment, my stress levels will soar, especially sharing a small kitchen the size of a 9 ft hallway with my father-in-law. I shouldn't complain because this was the only apartment that would let us lease month-to-month without any long term contracts. But we'll see how it goes.

It's just three months... three months of sharing the small space with 2 giants, pets, and a 5 year old giant - then we'll move to our dream home.
