Pumpkin Extravaganza

My favourite part of the week is Sunday, especially when my husband is not overloaded with tasks that he has to work over the weekend. Ahhh... such is the life of the entrepreneur's wife - though proud we are of his hard work and dedication to our family. We are truly blessed to have him in our lives.

I digress, Sundays are deemed to be, Family Adventure Day! We try to incorporate a variety of fun activities to enjoy. This particular day, we went to a Pumpkin Extravaganza where kids got a pumpkin to paint, make pine cone bird feeders, and etc. Maksim, as usual, had a jolly good time. He couldn't wait to explore and experience new things. This is a life secret we're instilling in him because when all is said and done, there are many beautiful things in this world we can enjoy and these very things want us to be happy. They are calling out to us, wanting our attention. The universe is set on giving us a life to enjoy, not to dread, and if so, these things teach us to be better versions of ourselves. Can you tell I've just finished reading Elizabeth Gilbert's brilliant book, Big Magic? It truly is life changing.

Something peculiar, Maksim has been doing some crazy weird poses in some of these pictures. This is all new to us. He makes a weird face, usually with his lips, raise his right arm, and then tilt to the left. Maybe he picked it up from school or something, but it's simultaneously funny and annoying. It has been difficult for him to take a serious photo, but this is who he is. We must capture his personality and accept his goofy, happy, fun loving ways.

Another kid's father gave Maksim some fish food. It was really sweet.

The display of train outside the museum was impressive. My favourite was the Amtrak to train. Reminded me of my childhood. Maksim is all about trains, trucks, and airplanes. 

Because I love taking pictures of my feet and something interesting on the ground.

When we got home, we hang the pine cone bird feeder in our front yard.

Before bed, we saw the neighborhood black squirrel with the white tipped tail sniffing the bird feeder. Once morning came, this bird feeder was MIA. Sneaky little critter! lol.
